Digital tacho - VU download limit extended to 90 days
On 6 April 2015, the UK tachograph legislation regarding the digital vehicle unit (VU) download period changed.
The maximum legal limit for downloading tachograph data from the VU has increased from the 56 days to 90 days. The ruling applies to both passenger and good vehicles, and the limit for the driver card remains the same.Read more
Annex 1B, an addition to EEC Regulation No 3821/85 on working hours and tachographs, sets the required specifications for manufacturing digital tachographs. Naturally, Stoneridge's SE5000 meets or exceeds all these specifications and as such has already been granted type approval for use in the EU. Furthermore, the OPTAC range is compatible with all digital tachographs which meet the Annex 1B requirements.
